About Us
The 135 Club was created by two Ukrainian-Americans, Sviatoslav Lesko and Lyubomyr Suharyna - who travel to Eastern Ukraine to deliver military equipment directly to soldiers on the front lines.
The 135 Club name comes from our first fundraiser to purchase a pick-up truck.
We needed 135 donations of $111 to reach our goal of $15,000. Thanks to our close friends, family, and supporters, we were able to raise $17,000 in 2 weeks.
Our second fundraiser was a 135 Club Christmas Toy Drive, with a goal of $25,000. Thanks to the overwhelming support of our donors and corporate matching, we were able to raise $53,000.
We are now introducing an easy way to create a recurring monthly donation, to remove donation fatigue and help Ukraine win.
Sviatoslav Lesko is a first-generation American-born Ukrainian who attended Plast Ukrainian Boy Scouts, as well as St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic School in Newark, New Jersey. As a recent counselor in Plast, he is still an active member in the Ukrainian Community in Whippany, NJ. He has family in Lviv and Kyiv, and returns to Ukraine every 6 months delivering supplies.
Since the war started, he brokered hundreds of Level 3 and 4 bullet proof vests from police departments, worked with Razom for Ukraine in organizing the Sunflower Gala in NYC, and organized fundraisers for Praviy Sector and most recently, the 135 Club.
Lyubomyr Suharyna moved to the US from Ukraine at 13 years old and also attended St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic School in Newark. He graduated Rutgers Business School in Newark, NJ, and now spends half the year working in Chicago and the other half volunteering in Ukraine.
Since the full-scale invasion, Lyubomyr has made 10 trips to the front delivering supplies - he has established strong working relationships with commanders from 8 brigades.
We are Ukrainian scouts, part of Plast National Scout Organization. Our group is called Carpathian Eagles! In Ukrainian we call it "Карпатські Орли", which is where K.O. comes from. The people you can see bellow are my friends. Many of them are in the front line fighting for the independence of the Ukrainian nation. When Russia invaded Ukraine, these young men were the first to stand up to the enemy that was much bigger than us, and their bravery helped us stand strong until now. With your help, we will remain strong until our victory!
GLORY TO UKRAINE!
